How the instant holiday lights estimate works

Most holiday lighting companies take your phone number and send someone out. This estimator prices the job from a photo of your own house, before anyone calls you. The price you see is the price on the estimate.

  1. Upload a photo. One daytime shot of the front of the house from the street, garage door in frame.
  2. Trace your roofline. Click along the eaves, peaks and gables you want lit. Add columns, trees, shrubs and pathways if you want them.
  3. See it lit. A rendered preview of your home with the lights on, in warm white or multicolor.
  4. Get the price. An itemized estimate, measured from your own roofline, in about two minutes. Review it, then sign when you are ready.

What a professional holiday light display costs

A full home display typically runs $1,500–$5,000 for the season, with most homes around $2,800. Roofline footage is the biggest driver. Everything else is added per element:

In the Chicago western suburbs, Infinity Holiday Lights prices roofline at $9 per traced foot with a $900 job minimum; displays over $1,200 get the complete-display rate, 5% off. Other territories set their own rates, and the estimator applies the right card as soon as you enter your ZIP. Typical ranges by city are on the holiday light installation cost by city pages.

Frequently asked questions

How much does professional holiday light installation cost?

A full home display typically runs $1,500–$5,000 for the season, with most homes around $2,800. The lights, installation, in-season service and January takedown are included. Roofline is priced per traced foot and is the biggest driver; trees, shrubs, pathways and wreaths are added per element. In the Chicago western suburbs, Infinity Holiday Lights prices roofline at $9 per foot with a $900 job minimum, and displays over $1,200 get the complete-display rate (5% off).

How does the instant estimate work?

Upload one daytime photo of the front of your house, enter your address, and trace the rooflines you want lit. The estimator reads the scale of the house from the photo, measures the footage you traced, and prices it on the spot. You see a rendered preview of your own home with the lights on, in warm white or multicolor, and an itemized price, in about two minutes. No visit and no phone call to get the number.

Is the price on the screen the real price?

Yes. The number you see is the number on the estimate that reaches the local installer. It changes only if you change the design: add a tree wrap, remove a side of the house, choose a different bulb color. The estimate is sent to you by email so you can review and sign when you are ready.

Do I keep the lights, or is it a seasonal service?

It is a seasonal service. The commercial-grade C9 LED roofline lights and clips are supplied and installed by the local crew, serviced during the season if a section goes out, taken down in January and stored. There is nothing to buy, untangle, store or climb a ladder for. A timer is an add-on in the same estimator.

Where is the service available?

Across 18 territories: the Chicago western suburbs (Naperville, St. Charles, Wheaton, Geneva, Batavia, Glen Ellyn, Lisle, Aurora, Elgin and the surrounding towns in Kane, DuPage and Will counties) through Infinity Holiday Lights, and the markets listed on this page through the local operator in each. Enter your ZIP in the estimator; it tells you immediately whether your address is covered and who installs there.

What kind of photo works best?

A daytime photo taken from the street or sidewalk, straight on, with the whole front of the house and the garage door in frame. The garage door and front door are how the estimator reads the scale of the house, so keep them visible. Phone photos are fine. Street View images are not used for the preview; it is always your own photo.
